    Dr. Elleithy has worked in academia for the past 30 years in various administrative and teaching roles, including Ph.D. Program Director, Online MS Program Advisor, Associate Dean for Engineering, Associate Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, Business, and Education, and Dean of the College of Engineering, Business, and Education. In his different roles for the past fifteen years, he was responsible for the management, expansion, and advancement of BS, MS programs and Ph.D. programs; accreditation and licensures of current and new programs; increasing the research expenditures; and active participation in all admissions and marketing initiatives including creating and implementing web strategies.

    Dr. Elleithy published more than 400 research papers in national/international journals and conferences with more than 6200 Google Scholar citations. His most recent research results in security of wireless communications, microstrip antenna design, steganography, mobile collaborative learning environments, QOS routing protocols in wireless multimedia sensor networks, disaster-recovery processes over wireless sensor networks, quantum cryptography, data fusion in WSNs, and multi-sensor based collision avoidance algorithms for mobile robots represent noteworthy contributions to the fields of sciences and technology.

    Dr. Elleithy introduced new and innovative classes in several areas, including network security, wireless communications, embedded system design, wireless sensor networks, and quantum computing. He is the founder of the Mobile and Wireless communications laboratory. His research group in Mobile and Wireless Communications won over forty awards for their research papers and posters at the state and national levels.

    Dr. Elleithy is an active promoter of interdisciplinary courses, certificates, programs, and degrees that build on the strengths of different departments and schools. These include arts and sciences, business, education, and health. He played a significant role in the multidisciplinary initiatives across different schools and disciplines in the University of Bridgeport. He introduced several courses, certificates, and dual degrees across different schools. New innovative programs in biomedical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, and technology management were seamlessly developed and implemented using the existing resources.

    Dr. Elleithy was the PI or Co-PI for more than $2,700,000 of funded research projects in the past twenty years. Sponsors include ARDEC, United Nations, Connecticut NASA Space Grant, CISCO, University of Connecticut START program, University of Bridgeport CTNEXT, Saudi Aramco, and King Abdul Aziz City of Science and Technology (KACST).

    Dr. Elleithy is the recipient of the Distinguished Professor of the Year Award of the University of Bridgeport in the academic year 2005. He received the 2015 Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Gold Innovation Award. In December 2017, he was elected Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences to recognize my contributions to Wireless Sensor Networks and Wireless Communications. In 2020, he received the IEEE Connecticut Section Outstanding Member in Academia.

    Dr. Elleithy has been heavily involved with numerous professional societies during the past 30 years, including the Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEEE), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). This involvement includes conference and workshop organizations, leadership, journal editing, and many other endeavors.

    Dr. Elleithy is the founder and co-chair of the International Joint Conferences on Computer, Information, and Systems Sciences and Engineering (CISEE), the most significant engineering online conference successfully running from 2005 to 2014. CISSE was technically co-sponsored by CT IEEE several times. He was the Co-chair of the 2014 Zone 1 Conference of the American Society for Engineering Education, Bridgeport, Connecticut, April 3 - 5, 2014, technically co-sponsored by the IEEE CT section. He was the Chairman of the IEEE Connecticut Conference on Industrial Electronics, Technology & Automation, Bridgeport, October 14 - 15, 2016. Dr. Elleithy was the IEEE Connecticut Communications Chapter Chair 2006 - 2008. Dr. Elleithy is the Chair of the North East Conference of the American Society for Engineering Education, Bridgeport, Connecticut, October 16-17, 2020.
